We offer stud service...

Chris does a great job explaining to female beagle owners how our Stud program works. We know it is hard to drop off your baby to total strangers (both human and canine) but I can say from experience, (our 11th guest soon-to-be momma is staying with us now. We even have had 3 guest studs stay 2-3 weeks over the years for every one of their daddy time. We recommend a few nutritional supplements for mommas as they progress through their pregnancy. Oxy Momma replenishes minerals and other nutrients to keep the mother strong and healthy throughout her pregnancy. A bottle of B Strong is also recommended because it provides a large amount of nutrients and energy to momma before and after puppybirth.

Buying another lightweight playspace...

Evenflo makes a great adjustable play space for puppies. We have bought 8 from Amazon because it is always in stock. We use them inside and out and they are easy to rinse off when puppy paws do their thing…

Busy Bodies and Minds need to be kept busy...

Although some families can have one or more family members work from home, to keep your beagle company, there are many times when humans can’t be there every minute! Keeping their minds working can be fun for your puppy and you. Dog treat puzzles are great tools to keep puppies busy. (Although I recommend to save the flap lid style for older, trained dogs - young ones think the lids are removable chewing toys).

Other chewing options...

People who spend time talking to Chris or me know we absolutely discourage rawhide chews for your new beagle puppy. They can quickly become choking hazards because they soften quickly and are swallowed whole - too big for a puppy’s digestive system to handle.

We like to use antlers, but have also found some great alternative for the aggressive puppy chewer that is teething. Benebone Chew Toys are great! We have many - different sizes for puppies and our adult beagles.

Best carrier for first 6 months

We have 6 of these now… the top door is perfect for a nervous puppy at the vet! We lift ours out without letting the puppy touch the floor. Depending on the adult size, this carrier can be a refuge for your puppy when you are travelling for 3-6 months.
