With a reduction in reservations, we made the tough decision to stop breeding. Unfortunately, no one told Rigley. He was always behind the scenes and was able to master his sneaky mating skills before we noticed our females (Daisy, Nelly, & Robin) coming into their heat cycle this Fall.
People ask us why we take back puppies and provide a full refund. Although we have had many the last 2 years, we stand behind our mission that non of our beagles will ever be put in a shelter. Things happen (small & big) that make “keeping a dog” against the better judgement for the dog and family. No of us could have predicted COVID in 2020 and its influence to shut down businesses. We have friends that lost their lively hood and couldn’t recover. We have had significant challenges this year with adoptions tapering off to zero at times. Keeping puppies beyond 8 weeks has been a logistical challenge. Both Chris and I want the best for our dogs and we hope to place all our older pups by Spring 2025.
Creating the First Quail Ridge Calendar was fun! I’d like to attempt it again, but will definitely do it earlier.
